I've been playing ELEX II without any troubles since March, but recently it became impossible to even load the game. Everything appears to be normal at startup (THQ Nordic and PB logo), then it normally prompts to the initial loading page, right before the "press a button to start" message is shown. After a few seconds the game freezes, and a "crash" popup is shown, with the only option to gather data for a report to be sent or not.

Right before having this problem, the game loaded normally, but it was damn slow. So I tried to tune the graphical settings to compensate, and then closed/reopened the game. That was even worse, because most of the graphic elements disappeared, I could barely see some terrain elements, part of the equipment but no characters. So I tried to restore previous graphical settings and closed the game. From this point on, it started to crash as just described.

The only thing that recently changed is graphic driver, but the rollback to previous version didn't solve the issue. I also tried to uninstall the game and download it again, with no better luck. From the NVIDIA GeForce Experience panel it is impossible to modify graphic settings: when I try they simply do not get applied.

Did this happened to someone else? Is there a way to load "safe" settings, other than through the Graphic in-game menu? Do you have any suggestion?

My specs: MSI B150M Bazooka MoBo, CPU i7 6700, MSI GTX 1070 8GB, 64GB PC2133 RAM. ELEX II is installed on a different SSD than the OS (Win 10)

Since this started happening after a driver update I'd try using DDU to completely delete the graphics driver and then reinstall the latest.

Thank you for your suggestion, I used DDU to uninstall drivers and nVidia applications, then I downloaded the latest versions. Nothing changed, Elex II still crashes before loading the menu.
By the way, I noticed that one more thing changed, that is patch 1.04. Before it was installed, the game used to load normally. After that, problems started, so I guess that probably it was the casue of the problem.

Anyway, reinstalling the game with 1.03 patch only did not solve the problem. I tried to get support from GOG, but the bot that gathers info "can't open a ticket". Very disappointing...
Thanks to a Steam user (Rosół z Dzika) I found the solution, that is:

"I removed my whole Elex 2 folder from "Appdata/Local" + removed nvidia profile for ELEX 2 and it works now. I will not mess with any drivers during beta testing :D"

The folder is then re-created by the game automatically at startup, and it worked for me!
Cool :) Glad you found a solution. I personally can't wait for the DX12 patch to hit live.
