It is driving me crazy. I kept checking Galaxy for the option to install after prepurchasing and waiting for a month and no day one patch... Can we download a separate patch installer from somewhere? I couldn't find a patch download.
According to their discord the day 1 patch should also be available on gog.
For me it did download another 17GB after the initial installation, but it also only shows me v1.00b in galaxy.

I am having some major texture/model/object flickering issues occurring after so long in game (so far at Morkon fort and Outlaw fort - heads disappearing and all kind of jarring problems,) and my map went pixelated when zoomed in all of the way, but it somehow fixed itself. The devs have a discord? DO you have a link? I would rather communicate with them directly rather than waste my time sending bug reports to THQ Nordic.

Good luck with your issues, for me it is luckily running fine so far. And I find it really enjoyable.

Thank you for the link.

I found a crappy workaround with the flickering: I have to reduce the render range when visiting the Morkons or the Outlaws. I also hope to get clarification on patch/version info.

I have 1.02.
I have my game set to "do not automatically update".
I manually update the game, by clicking on check for update, and it downloaded like around 580 megs.
It didn't fix the texture issue where textures pop in and out, in towns, but it made a ton of other improvements.

The Steam patch page says the "day 1 patch" is only for people who bought a disk-based version of ElexII. The ElexII dev page says that if you bought a digital version from Steam or from GOG or anywhere else this patch is already included in the download.

Makes perfect sense because the disk-based version is finalized several weeks before the actual digital versions from websites are released.

ok thanks that makes sense. Weird that the galaxy client says 1.00b instead of 1.02 then.

I guess they do that in order to keep things separate for the disk-based and the downloaded versions...for instance, there may be things in the 1.02 patch that broke something in the disk version that they need to fix, that has already been fixed in the downloaded version. I would also guess that at some point they will merge the number for both versions...;)

THQ Nordic should have made this clear from the outset, especially considering that we obviously will need another patch for rendering and other issues (have to set rendering distance one setting down when visiting Morkons or Outlaws, for example.)

So far, I am not impressed with THQ Nordic's acquisition of P.B. and I am already beginning to fear that P.B. will get the EA treatment.
Was hoping for another patch relatively quickly. At least we're not Vega users, those poor bastards get blue skyboxes with nothing in them on loading.

They will never allow that.. I speak German, so I am also able to follow some of their other podcasts with fellow German game developers. Björn mentioned how they keep their studio intentionally small and resist any urges from their publisher to expand in order to preserve the 'dna' of the studio and the games they produce. On the other hand that means we have to keep up with their jank, not because they cannot do better.. they don't want to ;-)

its an old card, with shitty support from the manufacture. It's not the games fault, this requires windows 10/11 for a reason. This is not PBs fault its all on AMD and there driver/hardware design. Vega is a dead platform :(

Hah hah hah! All they have to do is wait for the "community" to take care of it, like Gothic 3.
