So, I was just exploring around having a bunch of (initial?) quest running and had a BSOD (IRQ error), restarted the machine and launched the game again:
Surprise, all the quest I had active (maybe 8 or 9, not sure TBH) all start showing as completed.
I check the map and all the discovered places appear normal and Companions are ok. Went back to the starting area for a replacement part from one of the drones and tutorial messages appeared again, which I took as odd but placed on being the starting area.
Until I head to the elevator exit and Duras cutscene, who already was a true friend and companion, triggers again starting his questline again.

Any ideas on how to recover the quests that where open without going back to older saves?

I know I'm not that much into the game but I kind of find it slow and run around again for 10 levels because I'm a weakling that can't punch a plant is not amusing.

:/
My game has a problem syncing with the cloud some times, so when I load a game its not the same place I was last. Maybe check your cloud setting. Or try verifie if you have not done so. I would not be keen on a do over either that would suck, as this game is real slow for leveling up from a speggetti noodle to something that can fight.

i turned off my cloud saving. it complicates things too much when stuff goes wrong and can be annoying
I have a problem as well with missions/quests, mine dissapear from the map, if there are 4 yellows to go to, I do one yellow the rest dissapear even though the mission is not done. So I say F it and quit that one play around then go to camp, the guy I was working with on the mission I quit will come up and say lets go [basicaly] and the mission is back on. I also know what you mean about not wanting to go back a few save's because man this game is real slow, with a charactor that makes a marshmellow look tough.

by the end of the game you will be one and two shot killing like a god... just takes some time. the first number of levels just run from everything, and if u have a companion, let them do the fighting. u still get the exp anyways!
I'll give it another try. Thank you all for your messages!

However, it takes some long time, and the companion doesn't help for the fights against a quest npc.

you have a point there i had that problem with drog at the gate. however, if i started a fight outside the dialogue then the companion would fight for me. (did have to pay a fine for starting a fight) drog was killed lol

this strat won't work for all fights tho
