I've searched the various posts here, and they are helpful, but... I can't get mods to work. I'm running the GOG Skyrim Special Edition, and the game itself runs fantastic. I'm on Linux, and it works just fine with Wine. However, the mods that I try (making sure they are the Special Edition ones), do not work and are not recognized. I've created the loadorder.txt as per another post here, but it doesn't work anyway. Plugins.txt sees the ones I have, but the game itself when I launch it does not work. I've tried Mod Organizer, copying their loadorder and plugins files, but Skyrim still doesn't recognize the plugins...

Has anyone had more recent success?
Thanks for any ideas!
I've gotten this running under both linux and winders, and it always entails juggling launchers and stuff.
Try installing MO2 and SKSE via Lutris' "run executable in wine instance" menu item.
Then launch by running one or the other instead of skyrim.exe.
Modding away on Skyrim SE (I'll install AE after I finish SE) but I keep running into a wall.

Most mod authors specify which version of Skyrim their mod works with, but they mostly use Steam's numbering scheme.

I rented it on Steam, but bought it here because I wanted to actually own it.

Is there a chart somewhere that shows which Steam versions correspond to which Steam versions?

Most authors actually also tell you if it is for GoG or Steam.
You need to be carefull with your versions. Game version, Skse version, every single mod. And if not mentioned, look at the dates.
