Quick technical question. Has the music been converted to OGG, or is it still running off the original mounted image?

Not sure, but I think GOG compresses audio tracks as a matter of course to reduce download sizes.

If you're trying to reconstitute a disc (to use on an older machine or whatever), you could always burn using a program that can convert OGG/MP3 files back to audio tracks. It won't be bit-perfect but it would probably be functional.

Edit: This is assuming Redgaurd uses redbook CD audio tracks for its music. I've never played it.

That is what I wanted to do. My old PC has a Voodoo 3, so I might have a better chance of running it decently there (hoping it won't require an older Voodoo card, of course).

But if I have to build up the disc image again, I think I'm too lazy for that. Then again, for the current price, I might try anyway... :O

Well, I bought it, so I'm gonna answer myself: it's not possible to play on the old PC.

The image included is only disc 2, while the game is included only as installed folder. So you can't install it from disc 2, and the game will ask you to run the setup from disc 1.

I guess I'll be playing with nGlide then.
Is it a DOS PC? You can probably just copy the installation folder over and look at the DOSBox config to see what it's looking for in terms of installation path and CD-ROM drive letter.

Mmh, I will try. It seems Dosbox simply mounts the image for disc 2, then runs the game. Weird.
