Twelve years later 49.99? You're insane.
Hello,
Yes and no, it's always the same, if many people buy it because they like it, the price will never drop like diablo 2 back in 2000. On the opposite if a game is not sold well, he will drop extremely fast in price in less than a year.
And the game skyrim SE currently is at 13€. The price is fair. No point in purchasing the AE if it's just for the création club. It can even create more Bug.

Hi there
Well you didn't say much except " yup, and now it is discounted".
These companys just do what they want and there isn't any regulation active because they're main audience are youglings who don't know better than the thrill of playing a Drm free game.
These companies keep getting greedier and keep lying and overpricing things.
It's time we put our consumers foot down.
Colusion in market speculation, in Europe, is a crime.
Gog is a great service platform, but their practices, as they get famous, are getting worse.
it's literally on a 50% launch discount for 24.99 . The switch version was released for 70 dollars in comparison.

I don't need the "complete" version with that Creation Club stuff, so that's a lot less money. I never get people that want those "Ultimate Super BlahBlah" stuff, when you have a base game (that already has extra DLC's integrated) that you can mod to something Super Ultimate yourself with completely free mods. You pay for convenience, but that's all. The base game is the full game, and the "complete" version is only for those that want extra bells and whistles without any hassle to install that stuff by hand.

Anyway - The base game now cost €13.19, and that's nowhere near the €49.99 price point. You really do not have to spend any more. Unless, of course, you make the choice to let the sale pass by. But then you have no one to blame but yourself.

The last two sales steam "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition" were sold for 19,99€.
Historical low for an official steam reseller was 16,79€
GOG is more expensive... I like Skyrim and want to support GOG, but I agree this is overpriced.
Seems like you are unfamiliar with modern digital videogame pricing. Thanks to Steam loving to have big seasonal sales, all the publishers have adopted a practice of keeping everything at release price and then discounting their games to the "true value" when its time to join in on one of the big sales.

How so? The steam version goes on sale for 19,99€ while the GOG version is on sale currently for 24.99€

Yes. I was going to buy it for the DRM-free aspect, but I'm not a stupid sheep to be fleeced.
I don't understand why people want to buy Skyrim AE when Skyrim SE is more than enough with all the mod available in nexus. Skyrim AE contain too much dlc and it will be more difficult to mod because of compatibility.
Doesn't Bethesda set the price?

just get the special edition with all the DLC included.
The problem with a topic like this is the people complaining are always either continue buying it, or are apologists to the companies and players that buy this stuff.

People are always using price to justify this crap. It doesn't matter what the prices is, (on sale, cheap, it's just an upgrade). you people are still buying it.

In order for the problem to go away, people need to say enough of this crap, you've charged money for the same game 16 times, and just stop buying it.

It's exactly like people saying how does micro-transactions affect you if you're not buying them, it affects us because you people continue buying them. The more you buy them, the more the companies create and sell. That's what detracts from games, it's the apologists who perpetuate these problems.
