This isn't a major "problem" but I'll mark it as such.

Anyway I've noticed a strange problem with Daggerfall whenever I skip the opening logos. First off, if I skip the logos when the game is set to fullscreen, the game screen then just goes blank and I have to alt+tab to get out of the screen and close the game. Then, if the game is being played in windowed mode, skipping the logos will bring me to the main menu but the mouse suddenly doesn't work in the game.

However it turns out that if I just leave the logos alone and don't skip them in either fullscreen or windowed mode then the main menu and mouse work just fine. I don't remember this being an issue when I first tried the freeware version off of Bethesda's website a while back (I prefer playing Daggerfall this way since GOG preconfigures the game to work on DOSBox [as someone who didn't grow up on DOS, since Windows 95 was my first computer, I've never been good at using DOS]), so is this just an odd issue relating only to the GOG version?

Again yeah I know it's not major and all I need to really do is avoid skipping the opening logos, but I felt like this was worth bringing up since at first I thought something was wrong with the game, and I get the feeling others might think the same if they also skip logos upon booting the game for the first time.

It might have to do something with your video drivers (you might look into your DOSBox configuration file).

I skip logos without any side effects.

Black screen after introduction video

If you get a Black screen after skipping the introduction video with the mouse, type ALT + ENTER for go in Windowed mode and ALT + ENTER again for return to fullscreen mode.
If you want skip the Introduction video, use Space or Escape but not the mouse for avoid this problem.
I had this issue, too, using the version installed by DaggerfallSetup, so I would imagine it might just be some issue with DOSBox or something. I don't remember having the "blank screen" problem back when I ran the game in actual MS-DOS, and I definitely never had the issue with the mouse not working after skipping the video. But the above advice should fix the problem if you have it.

Also, CTRL + F10 captures/"uncaptures" the mouse (allowing you to move the mouse outside the game window if you're running DOSBox in windowed mode). Using this command a couple times might fix the issue with an unresponsive mouse cursor if it occurs.

Ah thanks, I must have missed that answer when looking up "known issues" earlier. Also I was skipping with the mouse and not space or enter, so that's what caused it. Also thanks for letting me know of the mouse capture command.

Happy to help. : )

Another handy pair of DOSBox commands to remember: CTRL + F11 decreases CPU cycles, CTRL + F12 increases them. Basically, this allows you to tweak the processor speed you want DOSBox to simulate. If the opening video of Daggerfall is running choppy for you (as it does for me and a lot of other people), try using CTRL + F11 a few times, see if it stops stuttering and runs smoothly.
