Just installed Oblivion GOTY Deluxe on my laptop with intel UHD graphics; I modded it out of the gate, all bugfixes and Northern UI for the native controller support. Launched the game (with OBSE) and all seemed fine until I loaded a save; then it was just UI elements (Health, Magicka, Stamina, compass and crosshair) on a gray screen about the color of GOG's forum background. Disabled all mods, Launched again, same thing, so I figure it's a graphics thing. Is there a DX9 dll I can replace the supplied one with to fix this?

CPU: Intel Core i3-1115G4
RAM: 8GB DDR4
GPU: Intel UHD Graphics (Arc)
OS: Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (22631.4169)

What happens when you start a new game? Same problem? If not, it's very likely a mod issue. Or your mod configuration is different from the one present when the savegame was created (does the game give you a warning about mod issues when loading the savegame?).

Yeah, same issue when starting a new game, modded or no. I forgot to add that in the original post. And no, no mod issues or warnings when loading the save; I just can't see anything.

Did you edit the oblivion.ini? Then revert your changes (or go back to default).
Otherwise two approaches come to my mind: - Try different graphics settings. Or uninstall Oblivion COMPLETELY (includes deleting leftovers in documents\my gmes\oblivion and appdata\oblivion áfter using the uninstall function, and then reinstalling it. Backup savegames in documents\my games\oblivion\saves before uninstalling). Don't install any mods!
Start a new game. If the problem is still there, I have no idea what else you could try - according to my experience, it's probably an incompatibility of Oblivion and something on your computer (software, hardware, ...). But it's unlikely to be an Oblivion problem, in the sense that it hits many players.

Edit: Somehow it reminds me of problems caused by missing meshes or textures. If this is the case, reinstalling should help (as far as new games are concerned).

I wasn't able to take a screenshot of it, but suffice to say that did it. Gonna bring my saves back over, test that out, and if everything works still, I'll mod the game again.

Edit: OMG. It was because I had "HDR" selected under Screen Effects. If I select "Bloom", it works fine. If I select HDR, I get a gray screen.

Good you found the solution. I hadn't thought of the graphics settings initially - but HDR / Bloom seems to be a frequent problem area indeed (I nevr had this kind of problem myself).
