Any word on when/whether Oblivion and Skyrim will be available through GOG?
On Steam they still cost 30 euro (at least Skyrim Legendary Ed) and bethesda does not look like they want to sell it without DRM...
Skyrim has a good amount of Steam integration, so there may be pressure on them to not release a non-Steam version. Skyrim itself is 15€.

Oblivion was initially released the same way as Morrowind, so there's less incentive to keep that exclusive. Base Oblivion is 20€, Deluxe is 25€.
Hope they eventually do release it here. I can't stand the TOS that steam/valve has for use, that is why I stay far FAR away from them.

In Skyrim. Apart of some accomplishments I don't see any special integration with Steam.

With Mods, I disassembled the game and reassembled it from ground up. You really only need the Steam Client to decrypt/run the executable.

Well, if you ignore Steam Cloud and Workshop, then yea no integration.

Yes, the game can be run without those. But denying that they are integration with Steam is a bit misleading.

OK, if you are into Steam-Workshop. But this also means you stay in your comfy Steam-Bubble and do not look anywhere else. No need to not have Steam run your application here.

I thought you were asking if it can run outside of Steam.

p.s. Do not take this offensive. I do not believe in social networks, Steam-Anything-Bubble or GOG-Galaxy-Bubble. All I want from games is entertainment and if I delete my savegames, I would have to play them again (and why not).

I doubt Skyrim will ever be sold through Gog
But maybe Oblivion

.
It's not unheard of for a "steamworked over" title to land on Gogian shores though. "Starpoint Gemini 2" has it's own workshop on steam & last I checked, those mods worked on the version available here on GOG. So to me the issue is more with Zenimax/Bethesda than technical

Yes, that is what I meant.
Of course it's not technical.
When I try to launch Oblivion with the Oblivion Script Extender (OBSE) it tells me that my Oblivion is an unknown version and won't launch. How do I fix this?

Make sure you're using the newest version of OBSE (0021) and latest OBSE loader, each of which you can get at:

obse.silverlock.org

Several people have reported this problem in other threads, and most of them seem to have resolved it by updating the OBSE_Loader.
