0Grapher: You mean the part where your launcher is started up once so that your graphics settings can be set?
I am not entirely sure why it would want to go to elderscrolls.com - that's really strange. Have you ever tried starting the launcher and setting your graphics before running the MGSO installer?

Just wanted to say thanks I just tried opening the options on the launcher first and it fixed it, the installer continued on as normal adjusting settings. As I didn't know what it was intending to do I didn't think to try it lol.

I too am hit with the black screen of death. After following the instructions, clicking new game produces a black screen and then crash. Tried turning off the internal Extender, still not working.

It's weird because this bug was happening due to steam's overlay. Wonder what's different in the GOG version.
