Brandybuck: This old myth. The only significant differences to SE over LE are:
* 64-bit clean. They did a crapload of work to port the 32bit game to a 64bit build. Mostly for the benefit of Fallout 4, but it's the same 64bit engine.
* HD Texture Pack as default. Already exists. Most LE players use it. The "remaster" bit is nothing but using the this free DLC by default.
* LIghting improvements. This is the visual improvement. We get DoF plus volumetric lighting.
A few minor things, like better flowing water, the torturer now has a leather hood, etc.
None of this affects the classic bugs everyone frets about. Affects zero quests. And being 64bit clean, it gets to use more memory as well as being more stable.
The big issue is that no one wants to give up their old mods. But mods that have not yet been ported over to SE have basically been abandoned.
For people who have systems capable of running SE, I can see no reason not to switch to SE, other than purely personal aesthetic preferences.
Not arguing against a GOG LE option, the more the merrier, but just pushing back on the myth that LE is better than SE.
There is a difference between "myth" and "opinion".
LE did indeed run better, the only people that would say what you gave said are persons without the LE available, anyone that has access to LE will see right through you.
