thexumm1: Maybe it's as simple as writing or editing a small text file.
avatar
olnorton: Yes it is.
In C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition GOG make a text file and name it plugins.txt
Write the mods in the order you want them to load. ESM's first.
An * at the beginning means it is enabled (removing the * disables the mod.
See the attached pic for my example.
Wow, it works
Thank you very much!

Hey I know this was a while ago, but I did what you said and some of my mods are working but not all of them. I copied over my entire plugins section but there are still some mods missing when i load up my game. Pls help, thx!
Bethesda and GoG have stated from the start not all mods will work with the GOG edition.

The good news is no additional mods are need to play and greatly enjoy the game.
Some mods I dont know from the OP list, but you have to read the Nexus forum posts if you get stuck, at times there are links to fixes. I am running with a modest 322 mods, all the bouncing weapons, hair and boobs I need. The GOG version is modable so you dont have to play vanilla.

I haven't been able to run mods using MO2 with this Skyrim GoG version.Only SKSE works fine. I talk about mods like start another life or SkyUI or MCM and others. It seems like either the game or the MO2 can't connect and yes before anyone says about .dll yes I have it.

This is a main problem for whoever wants to buy for 1000 times more Skyrim because the Vanilla game even with these shitty mods included is nothing more than A Vanilla game it will get bored soon enough after few playthroughs. Modding isn't just to compare if the game is good or not although modding especially Bethesda games have improved them, it is about how many times you can play a game with different way and I don't think MO2 users will have the best results with this Skyrim Version.
Yes as I have posted many time to other DRM-loving trolls, if you are into mods for cheating and freakizod females then the GOG edition is not for you.

If you are into actually playing games then the GOG edition is the best skyrim release ever.
I got GoG Skyrim working through MO2! I reinstalled SKSE several time and checked and rechecked the file path. The rub for me was properly placing MO2 GoG patch's .dlll.

But now it plays in a reduced window?!?

So I am trying to figure out how to get it to play in a full screen mode...

MO2 have ini files for each profile.
in the upper left corner there is an option that takes you to the "ini editor" of the active profile.

Is there anywhere that documents this plugins.txt file?
Also is there any way to have something like MO 2 edit this file?

As long as you overwrite the game_skyrimse.dll in MO2 with the GOG version in the update files https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6194?tab=files
MO2 will do it all for you, just like the Steam version.
