When i recently started playing DFU for the first time, fast travel would literally have me speed run through the wilderness. But i must of somehow turned this off. For now it just goes to a loading screen and i am next at the destination.

How do i switch back to the other method if I want to?

I presume either way instantly or speed run through the wilderness it costs coin to travel this way?

I think what you're looking for is in the settings for the "Travel Options" mod.

Unless you changed the default settings of Travel Options:

"Inns" travel is instant

"Camp Out" is live travel with speed controls

Ah, thanks for distinction. I hadn't touched the settings, but i guess i must of clicked on Inns. Is this why it costs gold to fast travel? you are paying for the cost of using an Inn?

I also learned that you can travel on the road via G speed up. That is another feature of the Travel Options mod. Not sure if that costs anything apart from fatigue?

Nope, if you want it to cost anything you have to stop at taverns to rent a room. This part of gameplay is more intuitive when you use survival mods.
