Hi

First off I've been playing Oblivion for a while and other then the normal crashes due to the mods I never had any problems. However 10 minutes ago I got a message that Oblivion exe and Oblivion launcher were being deleted because they contained the ID.ALEXA.51 virus I ignored and went on as normal. 10 minutes later I restarted the laptop ( HP Spectre x 360 - Windows 10), because Windows wanted to do an update. After rebooting I was unable to log in I was stuck on the welcome screen. After the fourth try it finally worked and everything seems to be back to normal. However every time I try to run the OBSE launcher it freezes and crashes to the point where i had to restart. I think my virus program might have messed up the file. Should I be worried, I mean I downloaded it through GOG so there should be no problem. What happens if I delete the game and just reinstall it in the same path, will my mods be deleted too or just the main game files? Sorry if the questions sound stupid I'm trying to figure out how to solve this without destroying my carefully modded game.

I appreciate any help you can give.

Burn onto a cd/dvd disc an anti-virus removal tool that scans the computer on boot-up. Make sure to interrupt boot and go into bios/uefi and make it boot from the CD. The thing you have listed is a Trojan according to the internet. The Anti-virus software usually quarantines stuff and doesn't delete it. Mods are more likely to have been the source of the infestation then the Oblivion EXE. Or something else entirely. It can take over your computer remotely for someone else. Oftentimes smaller anti-virus programs can see OBSE itself as a virus because it injects scripts in. After going through anti-virus cleaning procedure i mentioned, uninstall game. Delete OBSE files, restart computer. reinstall game restart computer. Reinstall OBSE.
