I just installed Oblivion and it keeps crashing at the Bethsuda logo after a second, I'm using windows 10 if that matters the store page said the game works on it so why is it crashing at launch?

edit: I found the issue, I still had some old data from the steam version in the My Games folder in Documents, after deleting it my game was able to launch now.

Where did you install the game? It will have issues if installed into the program files folder.
Its in the local disk (C:) location but not in program files, when I first installed a game on Gog it made its own file location outside of the program files unlike Steam games, that was why I even got the gog version of Oblivion in the first place I thought I would actually be able to play it especially with mods. The game was able to actually start and play 100% vanilla on steam even with it being in the programs (x86) files.

I've already tried editing the launching apps putting them on compatibility mode with and to run as administrator but it didn't work. At this point I'm just going to end up refunding it, this is ridiculous all I want to do is play my favorite RPG again with the mods I want.

Hello,
You had other installations of Oblivion? Oblivion often does not uninstall completely and leaves items in the registry. This causes later installations to fail. That means if you go back to the original installation you could run into issues. I'd say uninstall all copies and then do a registry clean, I used CCleaner and that worked.
