Trying to install Morrowind code patch 2.4 but only gets the answere that it must be installde in the Morrowind directory. I have tried both the directory where the Morrowind.exe is, and in the Morrowind data files map, but gets the same answere.
Tried as administrator also but still the same answere. Any suggestions? (I run win 7 and have all my games on a D:/ )

Are you using the GOG version? Conflicts with other mods or with earlier versions of the code patch? Registry issues because of the incomplete deinstallation of Morrowind before the actual installation? Two parallel installations (both created using the standard setup, not one cloned from the other)? There are many potential explanations.

It might be advisable to backup the save games, uninstall the game completely (including removing all registry entries), then install Morrowind (fully patched) followed by the code patch (before everyting else). If it works, fine, otherwise you'll have to play without the code patch (have you tried the unofficial patch?) - which is not such a big issue for an average or casual player.
