Hi! First time posting here, so go easy on me.
I just grabbed Battlespire, and am having some ... game breaking issues. I expected this from Battlespire, but this doesn't seem to be an issue for many other people. Can't find any other posts on this, except on Reddit, where the OP was left without an answer.
So, game launches fine-- chargen goes fine. I open to the first dungeon area. I can move/access menus/do pretty much everything I'm supposed to. There's audio, just no music.
Every time I approach the Scamps on the far right, DOS crashes immediately with no error prompt-- specifically, the screen goes green, and there's video fractures. I managed to fix this approach error by messing with the MEM size, but now whenever I *speak* to the Scamps, the game crashes. Putting two and two together, I assume this has something to do with the lack of music, because speaking with the Scamps would prompt the voice files, right? Upon further investigation, I find that there's aren't any audio files to speak of-- just the .ogg files for the music. I'm assuming (like Arena, Daggerfall and Morrowind), the audio files are loose in the game folder, so I should be able to see them, but I might be wrong.
Maybe the game is trying to access these audio files, can't, and it crashes? I have no idea.
ANY help would be appreciated, and if you need me to elaborate further, I can. I'd like to get my 2.99$ worth, but if I can't, I'll try to get a refund.
Thank you!
