I did some spell testing in Arena (using "area at range" spells so that I can hit myself with my own spells) and noticed some rather serious bugs with some of the effects. (Using version 1.06, in case it matters.)
Continuous Damage: Damage is much lower than expected, but the effect seems to never wear off. If you hit yourself with this effect, you will be drained for the rest of the game, which is not good. (Anyone know a way to remove the effect?).
Damage Fatigue (and Continuous Damage Fatigue): Doesn't actually work; your fatigue will not drop when you get hit by this. I believe all the lightning attacks that powerful enemies use are based off the known spellbook spell Lightning, which has a damage fatigue effect; all those spells from high level monsters were supposed to drain your fatigue as well as your health! It's only because of a bug that this doesn't happen; imagine if this effect worked properly. I think Transfer Fatigue may at least work properly, however.
Cause Curse: Seems to only damage stats once, regardless of duration.
Cause Disease: I created a weak (but decently accurate) version of this effect, and after using it, I quickly (like within 5 seconds or so) got a game over. I don't think it's supposed to work *that* fast.
It seems that Bethesda forgot to test some of the less used spells to make sure they actually work (or in the case of Cause Disease, that it isn't way too strong).
