So I remember you could press a button on the SNES version of EWJ1, during the "stage clear" screen, in order to make Jim say "groovy!" more than once. Is this possible on the PC version? Any button I press results on the game advancing to the next screen after just one sad "groovy!". I know it's rather pointless, but i had quite a laugh back then by making him say it as many times as I could manage to press the button, and I'd like to try it again in this version.

I think it was exclusive only to the SNES port (and EWJ HD, which was misguidedly based on it). The original Mega Drive version doesn't have it.
