What a surprise, I didn't expect Earth 2140 to arrive here. Many thanks from a old school gamer. This was my second original game (the first was Z from Bitmap Brothers), so when I arrive at home, the first thing I'm going to do is buy this and play and play and play... I don't like the other Earth games that much, but that doesn't matter now. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Indeed, I always wanted to play this one, I've played the others, and enjoyed them, but I never had a computer that was compatible with this title. Now that I've purchased it, I can play it whenever I want!
Indeed, it's nice to see this old classic here on gog, and to see that gog is expanding so rapidly :)
Absolutely loving the inclusion of Earth 2150 (hopefully coming soon!), which is as about an interesting an RTS as one could hope to find - huge, interesting timer-based campaign system, vehicle design etc. At $5.99? Until today Freespace 2 was a surefire bet for my next GOG purchase ... now I'm not so sure...
While C&C was my first RTS, followed by Warcraft II, I remember playing the demo for Earth 2140 when it came out, it was very different. I never played the full game, and I barely remember the demo, but I -do- remember the game!
wow, i Just suggested the moon project as an addition, and look what happened! I've only ever gotten to play the demo of this game and absolutely loved it but could never find it anywhere. Thank you Thank you Thank you :)
I got an email update about the topware additions...anyone know when 2150 will arrive? I never got to play the expantions. Great game overall!
Necropost!
As a fact, I do already own all the 2150 expansions on CDs. So, why did I buy the GoG version?
Unfortunately, I have to admit that, while the idea of aiding GoG is enchanting, the main reason is the language.
My basic 2150 is englsh and I love it. The expansions came to the stores localized...
I am an avid ED player and I do not understand the agency that is our translators. The original game came with surprisingly perfect style. I loved my "Urals", "Cossacks", "Khans" and all the other units. They brought about a feeling of ... home... I guess. And my fellow citizens, charged with translating the game, ruined it all without breaking a sweat.
I still do not understand what the translators found repulsive in the original. Fortunately I do not have to brood on this, since i already have the full English version (thanks to GoG) and I can make it to the Exodus ships and beyond ... true Russian style.
I sincerely hope our translators learned that they were wrong the hard way (lubricants abound).
Best regards to everyone (human, sane and law abiding).
