Hey everyone, I picked this up the other day and I just installed it but it will not run. Regardless of the resolution or display renderer chosen the game will flash my screen black a few times and then sit on the desktop. If I alt tab into the game or click on it in the taskbar it comes up for a second and goes right back to the desktop.

I'm running windows 7, if that matters.

Any ideas?

Mine does about the same thing. I can start the game but whenever i launch a campaign it crashes to desktop.

Afraid I can't even get that far...I start the game, or either of the expansions, and all I get is a full-screen window outline briefly flash and then nothing - the game is no longer running.

You running with administrator rights? (Right-click the exe/shortcut and choose "Run as administrator").

Tried various compatibility modes or disabling themes/Windows Aero for the duration of playing the game?

Did you install into the default Program FIles folder? If so, try installing it elsewhere, like C:\Games or something.

You could also try setting core affinity to just your primary core (core 0) if you have a multi-core CPU.

Just a few things you can try first. You never know, one of these or some combination of the above may resolve it for you.
