when i research an ammo upgrade will having my units be resupplied apply the upgrade or do i have to scrap them and build new ones? (repair units do not seem to upgrade if only ammo was researched)

afaik, ammo upgrades are applied immediately after research. Easily visible when researching rockets, as upgrades add tracking.
