I just got Earth 2150 from GOG.com and after installing, I can run the setup and it'll let me choose a resolution, but when the game runs, it seems to be running at low resolution. What gives? It seems like it's not writing an ini file or similar.

You need to make a test of resolution and than you will be able to change it.

I can attest having the same issue. I test a resolution, then try to change it by clicking "OK" while having that tested resolution selected and.... start the game only to see it being in 640x480(or at least, what seems to be the lowest resolution).
Though, if this can help, I uses Windows XP 64bits... if this could be a source of the issue.

Menu is always low-res. You need to start a mission.
