So game was working perfectly fine for me the last two days, then I try and play today, and as soon as I launch the game, the automatic update utility pops up. Ok, no big deal...except it's not actually updating anything. It tries to connect to the update IP address, but it just sits there. Any way to get around this?

Go to 89.179.241.76:5080/1.0.1/1.0.1.zip and download update manualy and then unpack archive into game folder. Warning though, it takes ages to download.

The file is only 634KB, but yeah it takes forever to download.

Manual download of 1.0.1 zip from 89.179.241.76:5080/1.0.1/1.0.1.zip, is the only way to update Eador for now. And it takes a few hours to download.

...or this may take less time if you have a neighbour not ONLY nice enough to provide advice but also to spend a minute to upload the file to a file sharing host.

My guess, the game only updates the version number in main screen? :)

All I know is that the journal bug is still there and the karma isn't maintained. So, not much. Hopefully, it's just something that you SURELY don't want to find out about. Like WHOOPS all saves corrupted stuff.

I downloaded the patch and extracted it, but do I have to do something with the PAK folder? What folder should it be in? I'm still showing version 1.0, so I'm obviously doing something wrong. Thanks!
