Just wondering whether anyone can point me in the right direction. I'm looking for a way to edit the .dat files that contain the hero portraits. I want to add some more. Is there a particular tool or method that works?

Use this program for dat files: https://www.allegro.cc/depot/Grabber/

Export:
1. File -> Load -> .dat -> OK.
2. Choose object.
3. Object -> Export -> where -> OK.

Import:
1. File -> Load -> .dat -> OK.
(2.) This step only for adding new data. Skip for replacing. Object -> New -> Bitmap for images / Other - OGG sound files.
3. choose object
4. Object -> Grab -> select -> OK.
5. File -> Save -> if in this file, then OK.

Thank you, Gremlion. That's exactly what I was looking for.

EDIT: works great. Seems like I can mod just about anything now.
