They deployed beta-patch on Steam, which fixes alchemy, diplomacy, and some AI issues.

The GoG version of the game won't include the beta patch, but once the final version of that patch is out, it should be applied to the GoG version of the game.

I would suggest getting it while it's on sale if you plan to play it once the bugs have been dealt with.
