There is just one thing that bothers me a bit in this game. When heroes gain a level, they gain randomly points in health/magic/command. Now, I'm ok with the thought that the attribute that is increased is chosen randomly, but there should be/have been limitations to this. Nothing bothers me more to have a scout that keeps gaining points in health while I'd like some more command, especially in the early game. That really can cripple your chances in a shard, and it doesn't depend on how well/bad you play. The attributes to increase should be class dependent (if they aren't already), with caps when it comes to the assignment of a skill point. For example:

Scout (all attributes matter in the same way)
Warrior (health > command > magic)
Wizard (magic > command > health)
Commander (command > health > magic)

Then for scout:

Since there isn't a dominant attribute for him, max attribute should be capped to something like level/2 (rounded down), so that a level 6 scout could have max 3 in command/health/magic, a level 5 scout max 2. Right now I have a lev 6 scout with 1 command, 2 magic and 4 health, needless to say, it sucks and it will probably screw this shard.

For other heroes, the favored attribute could get a bonus in a certain attribute when the final total is <= level/2 (rounded up) (for example a warrior could get 3 points of health even at level 5), the attribute in the middle would be limited to level/2 (rounded down), the least favored attribute to level/3 (rounded up) (like max 3 at level 9, 4 at level 10).

I don't really know how heroes gain attribute points right now, all I can see is that with my scout something is definitely wrong. Not to mention that I think I read once (maybe I'm mistaken) that the hero gained +1 hit points, not even health, I mean 1 HP is useless.. I say all this in the case that, even if the game is finished, if the developers are still around maybe they'll work at a patch someday (also I'd like to see multiplayer but probably I'm dreaming..).

Each class (and lvl 20 subclass) has it's own pre-defined ability caps i.e. a pure Commander will always cap out at 6 health, 4 magic and 10 command while a pure Wizard will cap at 4 health, 10 magic and 6 command.

How they reach the lvl 10 and 20 ability caps does seem somewhat random but in general they level up in a way that makes sense. As for your Scout since he can only get at most 3 command before he picks his sub profession you shouldn't expect to field any large armies with him in the early game...

Also how much HP they when gaining a level in the Health stat varies according to a table, i.e. +3HP at the first level and +7HP going from 9 to 10.
Not certain but can't recall ever seeing a hero gain only 1HP rather than a stat increase?

Edit: typo.

Ok, I thought it would be something like that, but the variability early in the game is too high, and the first phase is imho the most important.
Some mid-way caps for the first levels would be appreciated, getting 4 points of health and no command inthe first 4 levels really suck.

I seem to recall I've seen that once, but I'm not 100% sure, I don't look often what I've gained at level up, I may be mistaken.
