Inspired by the other thread where someone complained that there are no female heroes, I replaced one warrior portrait with the red haired warrior from the Broken World presentation.

This only replaces the first warrior pic and the small portrait. In battle mod the warrior is still male and the text also refers to her as him. I suppose the battle pic could be changed if all 4 warriors are replaced with female portraits. But the text refers to all heroes I think.
The name is still male, just imagine its her last name...again for this I think all warriors would need to be changed and the name text in the var file adjusted.
Thanks to Gremlion for showing us how to do this here: http://www.gog.com/forum/eador_series/moddingindexes
It was very easy, took me 10 minutes.

Just extract the two dat files into the dat folder. The picture files are included incase anyone wants to mess with them or better adjust them for dat inclusion.
If someone knows a reliable download site thats not dependant on my dropbox account, feel free to upload it.

Nice.
Good job.
Thanks. I am looking for more pictures that would fit into the style of Eador, then we could replace more heroes. Maybe even change the icon in the battlefield, but finding something appropriate for that will be difficult.
I've just downloaded this and installed the two dat files to the dat folder but I don't get any new choices of player when starting a new game. Any idea's what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
Oh this is for heroes, not for the player picture, but I guess those could easily replaced as well.

I also replaced many other heroes, but it didn't seem like there is much interest, so I didn't bother to upload it.

Ahh! thanks, I understand now.

I for one would love to see your other hero replacements so if you fancy uploading anywhere I'll be the first to download :)
I see now that I already updated the file in the first post last year but did not post. It has the names.var file now with female names you can easily edit yourself. And the mages all have female faces.
So you should already have the extra faces.
If you have suggestions for fitting icons for the battlefield that would be easy to replace, because its a bit strange right now to have them male there.

Excellent, thanks :) As for suggestions for fitting icons, I'm afraid I haven't got a clue but I agree about it being strange having a male icon when playing as a female!
