I have a problem and thus far I have been unable to find a solution on my own. Whenever I try to start a new shard, both in custom games and campaign modes my game crashes part way through loading and as such I have been unable to start even a single game. When the game crashes the only error message I get is that the game has crashed and windows will let me know if it finds a solution to my problem.

Anyone got any suggestions how to fix this? I am using Windows 8.1 64bit

Eador does not reset the RNG (Random Number Generator), hence you end up with the same crash. I suggest go back to the previous shard and spend one more turn on it or one less and then back to astral.
This will give you a chance of no crash on the next shard.

Worst case, spend a turn in Astral and then start a new shard.

Thanks for the suggestion, though I might not have expressed myself clearly enough. When I said it crashes when I make a new shard I meant from the main menu, when I want to start up a game so thus far I have been unable to even have a single turn in even a single game of Eador -.-" Sorry for not being clear enough about it
