Earlier in a post I had criticized this game for being half baked, and while it initially may have been, the game has been patched to descent stability. A friend of mine gifted this game to me, so I had no other choice but to play it.

I am enjoying the game thoroughly. For anybody who has just purchased this game keep in mind that there is a lot of game mechanics and details under the hood, and mastering these mechanics is the key to understanding and enjoying this game.
I occasionally notice new things. Most of them not that big, but occasionally significant.

The biggest thing so far: characters have separate item slots for ranged and melee weapons. (I forget which slot is for wands). This makes Slayer (Warrior --> Scout) very appealing, as you don't have to spend a turn switching weapons. The only time you would do a weapon swap is if you wanted to switch between two different weapons of the same type. Pecking at the enemy and then one-shotting them when they get close is really strong, and this multiclass excels in a wide variety of circumstances, but especially at taking down other heroes.

At the same time, Adventurer (Scout --> Warrior) isn't as appealing, since the unique ability is hardly in demand (you could maybe switch to a spear on turns when you don't do a melee attack, I guess, buy Slayer poison is a bigger benefit I think).

I think you can also have a banner and bow on either of the commander/scout multiclasses.

As far as I can tell, Slayer is the strongest class, at least for small maps. I could be wrong.
