I have quite a few player profiles now that I wish I could delete. The learning curve for this game has been difficult for me and I'd just as soon delete old player profiles that I will never play again. Is there a way to do this?

In Genesis - player.prf files in default save folder.
In motbw - probably in documents&settings.

I've checked the Eador Save folder. It just list things as Game0.sav, Game1.sav, etc. Also there are files called Player0, Player1, Player2, etc, but they have no extensions. They show as an icon of a key and says its a PIC Rules File. There is nothing in the Eador folder that makes it clear that I am deleting certain character profiles.

Most games I've played have a way to delete your saved games from within the game itself. This seems like a fairly major oversight in this game design.
Pic Rules File=PRF,
first profile will have game0, map0, profile0 and so on.

Yeah it's those key icon files those are the ones. They read "Player# PICS Rules File"

In game in the Player Profile list find the position # of the one you want to delete and subtract 1 (3rd in the list would be listed as Player2 in other words.). Also any other files in the folder with that number belong to that profile as well so you could delete them as well. Like in above example you would want to get rid of game2 and map2 files as well.

Following your instructions did the trick. My only question is will my Player4 profile become my Player0 profile if I make a new character? Or if I create 4 more characters (Player0 to Player3), will they show up before my Player4 profile when I click "Add new character?" Or will all my new player profiles continue after #4, so my next character would be Player5 profile?

Thanks for the help. I still say it's a major oversight to not be able to delete character profiles from within the game itself.

Ok just tested this out myself to find out as I could only offer an educated guess if not.

Ounce you delete any outdated OLD profiles your remaining ones will NOT be changed they will stay with their number and position in the list. In fact they are not effected in anyway by the deletion of your others which is a good thing really.

For instance if you have profiles a(0), b(1), c(2) and d(3) and delete b and c then the next profile you create will take b's old number 1 and be second in the list. Your new list would look like a(0), z(1), d(3) and the next profile created would take the #2 spot which would be 3rd in the list lol.

Hope that's clear. And yes it would be nice if they had an in game deletion feature but really it's a very small annoyance that really doesn't hurt that much unless you have countless other ppl playing on your machine of course.
Thanks for testing that. I should have done that myself. I'll make sure to write down "Player4" in case I actually make a dent in my quest for shards, and don't wish to accidentally delete him.
