MarkoH01: It has been discovered that the "missing" DLC files are included in the offline installer but that they are hidden as it can clearly be seen here.

I played the game normally with Galaxy enabled until I was able to access the Badlind Rider Outfit (Prologue need to be completed for those additional outfits to be accessed). I archived the files from the docuuments folder INCLUDING my savefiles deactivated Galaxy and connectivity, deleted all files and reinstalled again. Then I copied those files back into the documents folder and started with Galaxy deactivated. I was still able to accedd the Badlan Rider outfit from my save file - the outfit is shown in an extra tab.

But MAYBE the DLC was only shown in this case because I used a savefile which was created while using Galaxy/connectivity so we still need to test if a fresh install (offline installer) with only those additional files but without any savefile (start a new game) without Galaxy/connectivity is still showing the DLC after finishing the prologue.

I hope this summary is correct and understandable so far.

btw: We are doing the work GOG should have been done - we are trying to get this beast REALLY DRM-free ;)

timmy010: the files that exist in the my docs folder, the ones which powergod said change, do not exist in the version of dying light prior to the 10-in12 dlc. it is possible that it is independant of save games. however, i can't get the stuff in the first place because i do not use galaxy. i support the fact that if we can atleast generate content and backup independantly of gog, then atleast our copies are truly drm-free. but galaxy is a requirement

powergod: Do you mean that your version is not updated to the last offline installer from GOG ?

You should anyway open a support ticket complaining about the matter, and maybe point them to this thread.
More support tickets maybe will make GOG do something about the matter...

Well, if our tests demonstrate something, is that this thing has nothing to do with "the clock" and that could be indeed fixed by GOG.

Also I didn't appreaciate at all the answer regarding "you need internet anyway"... what about if I put the installer in a DVD and then install it where I don't have network coverage then ?!
This completely destroys the offline installers purpose...

If the "broken" only refers to the fact that you cannot access the additional DLC content it is probably just because you don't use Galaxy and therefore cannot establish a connection to the Techland servers.

MarkoH01: Just fnished the prologue - once again. This time with a completely new game with only the additional files dropped into the documents folder. Unfortunately the DLC content (like Badlands Rider) was NOT accessible. I switched Galaxy back on and the game downloaded some new files with slightly different filenames from the ones I archived. It also modied my savegame. Deactivated Galaxy again, started game - still working. Deleted the folder and copied my unmodified files (pre Galaxy connection) back into the folder and it does not work.

For me it seems as if the downloaded files will only work for the game started so that only the game that once connected is able to access the Badlands Rider DLC. Making a backup in this case therefore would probably be completely useless.

finkleroy: Galaxy required for singleplayer content, with GOG staff lying about it it to me in response to the support ticket I submitted months ago. This issue needs to be corrected, or the game needs to be removed from the store and refunds need to be issued to everyone who requests them. I blame Techland for using DRM on a DRM-free platform and GOG for not correcting this issue when it was pointed out to them by numerous people many months ago.
