When I'm in game it flickers constantly and I see a black box across the screen. The intro and the menu are fine but when you are in game it flickers.

I'm running Windows 7, has this happened to anyone else? I've tried everything I could think of but no matter what I do, It does nothing.

Any ideas?

I have the same issue. Ive tried compat mode with no luck. I was told by someone I know that ATI cards are bad with some old games so that may be the issue.
If you have an ATI card, try to disable "Catalyst AI" in the Catalyst Control Center.
I cant find anywhere in the catalyst to turn off catalyst AI? Flickering ruins this game.
It is under 3d appliction settings.

The third topic from top.

I tested the gog-version myself on my Vista based system yesterday to see if my idea works. I am using two ATI cards in crossfire. I can definitely say that with catalyst AI turned on the game flickers. When I turn the catalyst AI off, the game runs well without any flickers.
Disabled the AI and still flickering.. Baldur's gate did the same, but with the sdk direct x june 2010 put the direct Draw solve that problem but this one persists...
HELP PLEASE!!
Graphics card :HD5970
I have the same problem on Intel card (GMA4500 MHD). Tried various settings - no luck.
I am having the same problem as well :(

HD5990

I looked all through my catalyst control settings there is nothing called catalyst AI under 3d-application or anywhere else.
ATI removed the feature to disable Catalyst AI in newer drivers. I do not understand why they did this. I can not use these new drivers for my two old 4870 cards so I can't look for another solution.

Sorry.
I found an alternative solution for the flickering problem.
This should help ATI card owners.

You can create a custom profile for Dragonshard.

1. Go to Catalyst Control Center -> 3D Application settings -> AMD CrossfireX Mode for 3D applications and choose "Disabled".
2. Under Application Profiles click on "Save" when << new application >> is shown.
3. Search for the dragonshard.exe file in the directory where you installed the game. Select the file.

Now the flickering should be gone.
I can't find any of these options you all are talking about. I see no Catalyst AI, to disable.
If you can not find an option to disable catalyst AI, please try the following.
(only for ATI/AMD crossfire systems or dual gpu ATI/AMD cards):

You can create a custom profile for Dragonshard.

1. Go to Catalyst Control Center -> 3D Application settings -> AMD CrossfireX Mode for 3D applications and choose "Disabled".
2. Under Application Profiles click on "Save" when << new application >> is shown.
3. Search for the dragonshard.exe file in the directory where you installed the game. Select the file.
