Has anyone had luck importing their characters from Shattered Lands to Wake of the Ravager using the transfer tool?

I spent a whole day playing around with the dos box settings such as ems, xms and memsize. As well as trying different memory offsets with Loadfix and nothing works for me.

I am always getting the memory allocation error when running the transfer:

"Unable to alloc -14090241 memory for the item data."

The only alternative approach I can think of is using a real VM such as VirtualBox but I have no idea how to load the data onto the VM disk.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

After messing around and trying a few different things I managed to resolve this and for anyone wondering this is what I did.

This does not work with DOSBox or FreeDOS.

Download MS-DOS 6.22 (floppy images).
Mount and install it on a VirtualBox dos image.
Use WinImage to create a floppy image with CDROM drivers.
Set up CDROM drivers in DOS (edit autoexec.bat and config.sys).
In VirtualBox create a CD image with the darksun 1 and darksun 2 game files.
Mount the CD to the VM and copy the game folders to C:\
Run the chartran.exe tool
In VirtualBox create an empty floppy image and mount it.
Copy the new generate CHARSAVE.GFF to A:\
Use WinImage to extract the floppy image and copy CHARSAVE.GFF to the host GOG Darksun 2 directory.

Start a new game.
