I've read the forums and I'm still not sure whether or not to get it. Some people say it's fine, others have issues. I'm using windows 7, which seems to be the hardest to get it to run on. Has gog addressed any of the issues?

I almost bought it at launch,but I decided to wait. I really want to buy it, but not if it doesn't work.

My CD copy (which I assume is equivalent) works fine for me. I think the problem is with ATI graphics cards on windows 7.

I have win7 and have this game runs fine for me. I recommend installing as administrator to be on the safe side.

Crashes with all patches (even the unofficial 1.8) for me. I can't safely recommend this game for Win7.

I have XP and it crashes frequently with an ATI card. I wasn't going to get it but the December prices were so good I figured they'd put some effort into fixing it. I was wrong. Don't buy it.

I hadn't had any issues with it, I can play through 7 levels non stop and didn't have a single crash yet on the default settings and yes I'm running win 7. But given that this is a older game it's a bit of pot luck on if it will run flawlessly or not on your setup.

I've got nvidia + windows 7 64bit and it crashes constantly, works slow in menu. Unplayable.
At least dk1 works nice.

I have Vista 64, and a nividia 9800gtx, It crashes on occasion.. I did make it all the way to the end of the campaign though, it crashed maybe 5-10 times? I sorta forget, it wasnt every mission. More a few random missions had issues.. I have upgraded my vid card just a few weeks back to a gtx550 TI, I have not tested it as of yet..


But if your asking if the game is worth it, I'd say definatly yes. While the original DK has some things i liked better, Over all DK2 is a much better experiance. Possession is much more fun, and there are lots of neat things you can do with coverted heroes. There is also many balance issues that were fixed as the hero gates have limits, so you don't run into the issues of having to fight 100's of monsters and buggy game play that comes with it. and workshops work better..
