Is there any way to improve graphics in DK2?
I'm thinking specifically about higher resolution, anti-aliasing and maybe adding mipmap support?

You can raise the resolution by editing registry keys:
- Run regedit (press Windows-Key+R to open the run dialog and type in regedit)
- Find "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bullfrog Productions Ltd\Dungeon Keeper II\Configuration\Video"
- Change "Screen Height" the decimal value of the key to your screen height (e.g 800)
- Change "Screen Width" to your screen height (e.g. 1280)

If you're running the game as another user, than the one you're using right now (e.g. as administrator), the keys to change aren't the ones in HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Use the search function and search "Bullfrog" to find the keys for the right user.

Use this updated graphics patch by Timeslip http://timeslip.users.sourceforge.net/temp/DK2-patch-v4.7z

Here is my config file with antialiasing and anisotropy enabled http://www.mediafire.com/download/l2v9uehi9wi4jrr/GOG.7z

The config file is located in c:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\GOG\DungeonKeeper2\

If you want widescreen, you need to change the resolution in the registry. You can do this by pressing WIN+R then enter regedit.exe

Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bullfrog Productions Ltd\Dungeon Keeper II\Configuration\Video

There you will find two DWORD values which need to be changed, Screen Height and Screen Width.

Set them as you wish, but make sure that the base value is selected as Decimal otherwise it will NOT work.

I have my resolution set to 1280 x 800 and it works perfectly.

I cannot get any of my registry edits to work. No matter what I put into those values the screen still defaults to 4:3 resolution.

Make sure you select "Decimal" when you edit the DWORD value, then type your width or height into the box.

Yup, done that... Still nothing...
why is it some people can change there resolution via the reg edit and some can't? I got windows 7 home premium and i can't get the rez to change at all even with the reg edit.
post screenshot of registry?

here are some other wrinkles:
1. the 3D welcome / menu screen is always going to be 4:3 and low res. High res/widescreen only applies to actual gameplay. it will not look any different until you actual start gameplay.
2. don't go to graphics settings menu after setting resolution via registry.

Please keep in mind that the startup screen is ALWAYS in 640x480 resolution. Only when you actually start a map, the higher resolution will kick in.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I full scan of my registry failed to bring up a sinlge Bullfrog reference ??
