So just bought Dungeon Keeper 2 today, but whenever I try to start it nothing happens the process according to taskmanager is running, but absolutely nothing happens on my screen, not even a black screen flash or anything absolutely NOTHING. This is true for both DKII-DX.exe, DKII.exe and even DKII_SOFT.exe.

I have tried various compatibility settings including "deactivate full screen optimizations" as well as ofc the run in compatibility mode like the various earlier windows.
Have also tried disabling my antivirus (Kaspersky Internet Security)
Nothing changes for any of it

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Nvidia geforce GTX 970

Edit: I also made sure that DirectPlay is enabled in windows

Okay with a bit of help from support I found the problem was Nahimic 2 that was the culprit

I'm experiencing the same problem. Please explain. I'm not sure what you are refering too.

Nahimic 2 is a piece of software coming with the realtek audio drivers, handling some of the more advanced functions, so if you have that try and shut down nahimic, if you don't have it I can't really help you (Nahimic icon is a sort of light blue background with a big black N written over it)
