I am posting this just to make your life a bit easier playing DK1 .
The easiest way to get full screen mode is to locate the game file under "/gog games/dungeon keeper gold", and than locate a utility called "Launch Graphic Mode Setup".
Change the screen size to your resolution *AND* change graphic mode to "DDRAW". Make sure to save changes. The game will now launch in full screen mode.
If you are lazy like I am, and do not want to edit "CREATURES.txt by hand ...
1: Google the utility "Dungeon Keeper Enslave Editor" (( app.box.com/shared/k1ypa5gaui )) .
2: Extract the files into your Dungeon Keeper Gold file .
3: Make a copy of "dosboxDK_single.conf" and put it some were safe .
4: Open the original file with text editor .
5: Change the line "keeper.exe" to "enslave.exe" .
6: Launch the GoG Dungeon Keeper shortcut .
7: Edit the creatures, than save .
8: Do #5 in reverse .
9: Relaunch the game .
