I can't tell if this is an issue with the game or simply the way it's running.
It seems as if the games playing at half speed, combat animations seem super slow and basic tasks like mining seem to take forever. I don't remember the game taking this long and giving me this much down time.
Is this a known issue at all? If not I'll upload a video as I'm not sure if it's just me.

Have you tried going into options and adjusting the game speed.

Firstly I apologize for going all necro here, but this is driving me insane, last time I played with the GOG release it worked just fine, but now I have the same issue that OP stated above, everything is very slow, like all animations are done in half speed, but more than that if I drag out a 4 x 1 room, it takes anywhere from 1-2 seconds before they even start filling in, and upwards of 5 seconds before the room is build.

Not sure what the issue is, I've tried everything I can think of but nothing seems to change it.


Edit: Move along, nothing to see here. After turning the game to full screen I had fiddled with what I thought was the volume sliders, since putting it in widescreen removes the menu text I had actually turned game speed to 25%
