I tried the General Improvement mod with version 1.7 of the game, and it seems that when using the call to arms flag, my creatures wander off and get killed. I saw a large group of them surging towards the enemy in a suicidal fashion, despite placing the flag way back from the enemy lines.

For this reason I wasn't able to continue with the GIM mod. I will try the flame mod next.
