It was an addon for DK. Any chance of it coming, too?

I think I read something about the expansion not being compatible with this version of the game since it's DOS. If you dig through the reviews for the game you could probably find some more information.
Duffadash: Do you guys need the Gold Edition CD? Because I can totally mail it to you or something... Just want to play DK again... >.>

Cook(GoG): It's not the case of us not having the addon, but we didn't add it due to legal/licensing issues.

It's due to legal issues. The expansion (I still have my original copy) had both DOS and WIndows versions.

Meaning no. Probably not anytime soon.

Some years ago, I got the Gold version, from the UK, and it worked in Windows XP.
I haven't tried it in Vista or 7, though.

And, I don't know if I was running the DOS or Windows version.
Well I have the Dungeon Keeper Gold as well. And it does work in Windows 7 if run in DOSbox... But the Win95-exes don't. Which does suck a bit since they have Direct3D. However it doesn't suck half as bad as DK2 which was made for hardware graphics but only works in software mode in Windows 7.
The following is taken from my PC Game Compatibility list.

The following only applies to the Windows ver of DK.

For the DOS ver use DOSBox

It highly recommended to use KeeperFX instead of DOSBox or the original DK executables (unless you want to play multiplayer then use DOSBox)

Windows 7 64bit
Tested 3/5/2010

Installer is 16bit. Install game on another computer and copy the files over. Modify "keeper.cfg" if CD drive location changed.

For both instructions below you will need to end the explorer.exe process before starting the game otherwise the palette will be corrupted.

TO RUN GAME IN DIRECTDRAW

Just execute the game.

TO RUN GAME IN DIRECT3D

Run game in Windows 95 compatibility mode.

Also install the Windows XP video card drivers for your video card.

Tested on Dell XPS M1330 with Intel 4 series chipset

OLD

VMWARE v7.0.1

Game didn't seem to work using Windows 2000 as a guest OS.

OLD

Tested 10-16-2008

Game works
Tested using DirectDraw in Vmware Workstation 6.5 with Windows XP as the guest OS.

When I tried it in Windows 7 32-bit, it worked just fine. I don't think
that I was running any sort of emulation mode.
