So as a last ditch effort , I dug into my closet and pulled out a very old laptop to try DK2 on it . My hope was that the hardware is old enough to not cause any issues but modern enough to run DK2 very well . Lo and behold the original CD installed properly and the game ran normally right after installation without any compatibility issues whatsoever . The video card is dedicated nvidia and in the game options menu , right next to "direct3d" , it shows as "primary display driver" . I used the CD instead of the GOG version because I wish to keep the hardware acceleration and also because I don't want to run version 1.7 .

My question is , now that I can run stock original DK2 the way it's supposed to be without any mods or hacks or anything at all , what should I adjust to make it look as best as possible ?

I've scoured through all the posts on all the forums but information overlapped and got confusing so I thought I'd ask here for a straightforward answer .

- Should I change anything in the registry like the engine id or anything else ?
- Should I change anything in config.ini ?
- Should I add anything to the exe such as 32biteverything or bumpluminance/mapping or anything else ?
- Anything else at all you suggest ?

Again the game is stock original and is running pure without any modifications whatsoever . I only want to set the graphics as best as they could be . I'm aware that high resolutions will make the menu text dissapear but that's fine with me . I hope someone can help me please . Thank you in advance !
