Do any of you use the Barracks? It seems like the only use it has is for attracting orcs. Is there really any strategic use for grouping your minions together? A few people out there seem to think so, but I'm leaning towards disagreeing with them. I've read on the Dungeon Keeper wiki that you can only group up to 8 units together, but 9 seems to be the maximum based on my play-testing.

When they are in a party creatures have a maximum speed of 255. So if you have 8 warlocks and a hasted Fly, if you possess the fly the Warlocks will be able to travel at the speed of the fly.

That, and the barracks is cheaper than Call To Arms.

I'm not saying these are important enough to actually build a barracks; they're just, uh, features. I always used call to arms...

In the included campaign there is to use the barracks. And indeed, when having CTA available and you have some gold it is almost always better than using the barracks.
