Sure you can. ZOOM Platform still sells it and isn't some shady gold chain and tracksuit outfit.
The post you quoted is pretty suspect though - if the user purchased them on GOG as they claim, then they're still available on the account the purchase originated from.

It's a shame because games removed from the GOG catalog don't get updated for compatibility anymore.
Descent was in limbo for four years and only got a new Galaxy-compatible installer when it got re-added to the catalog for a new (higher) price (Descent + Descent 2 raised from $5.99 for both together to $19.98).
This ever changing IP conundrum makes me question the whole concept of selling repacked good old games. It doesn't seem to be long-term sustainable.
What also got lost by GB's IP grab was the really carefully remastered Duke 3D Megaton edition (which wasn't on GOG though).

It is. You get all those classic games, right? You can still play them with more or less tinkering, right? Descent and Duke Nukem are more exceptions than rules.

GOG should should let the users who bought the games from the old publisher get the new games under the new publisher. It couldn't be more right in my opinion even though GOG might loose money over this but why should the customer have to buy the same games twice?

It is a shame Duke3D was removed.
Hopefully it gets put back, I doubt having it on here will hurt Gearboxes "sales" that much. Who knows, maybe eventually World Tour will be on GOG soon.

I can't imagine Gearbox cares. If they did, I would not be at all surprised to find that the only version of the game that went back up for sale on GOG would be the World Tour release.

If only the Megaton Edition showed up GOG like Shadow Warrior Classic Redux did...

I found a old copy of atomic edition at a thrift store and decided to test out the Duke HRP. It's actually pretty awesome! I think it's even better than the world tour edition.

It is, but the full 3D models makes even my solid rig chug a bit at times. And, getting the HRPs to run with Life's a Beach and Nuclear Winter and Duke it out in DC is a real headache. Why use SVN instead of github?

Why use SVN instead of github? I did however, leave the 3d models in for the props but everything else including the HUD and weapons is basically using the original sprites. It kind of works well!

In that case, all you really need is eduke32 with Polymost set to the highest and maybe the voxel enhancement mod.

ZOOM was down for a while doing a redesign (I... guess?) but it's back up again and it still has the old Duke games up for sale, DRM free (although it's looking less and less likely that the Duke 3D page's promise of the expansions getting added "soon" is ever going to bear any fruit).
