nate1222: These guys are right. The controls flat out suck ass. I'm very accustomed to the WASD-Space (for jump) layout. And Duke Nukem 3D just ain't letting it happen.
Whenever I attempt to open "SETUP" in the folder, it tells me that this program isn't compatible with the Windows version I am using (Windows 7) and that I need to check regarding x86 or x64.
What the Hell?
You can't run a 16-bit app in a 64-bit Windows OS. You must be trying to run the setup from Windows. To use it you have to run setup through DOSBox that GOG provided. There are plenty of forum posts about this on this site.
nate1222: Screw it. I just uninstalled Duke Nukem 3D. No need in keeping something that plays like shit. GOG got $6 outta me for squat. They can pat themselves on the back.
Nice hustle, GOG, nice hustle.
Don't blame GOG for the controls of the game. GOG have nothing to do with the controls of the game, the controls are as they were when the game was released. If you don't like the controls of old games, don't play them and don't buy them.
That said, why not get eDuke32, a replacement native Windows engine for Duke Nukem 3D? It allows you to use WASD, modern mouse look, etc, and you can play at higher resolutions, use high-definition replacement graphics, and more, should you choose to. Again, plenty of information all over the GOG Duke3D forums about it.
