I can't seem to get the hi-res patch working....the game looks the same when launching from "eduke32" as it does using the GOG "Launch Duke Nukem 3D".

Here's what I did:

1) Downloaded hi-res patch from here http://hrp.duke4.net/download.php

2) Extracted the files from "eduke32_win32_20121220-3308" to my game folder (in this case: C:Games/GOG/Duke Nukem 3D)

3) Run eduke32.exe and chose the settings to match my laptop res

4) Launched the game in eduke32 by selecting Start

My laptop runs Win 7 x 64 and I don't think it's relevant but I have a NVIDIA graphics card (I think it's a GT420). I'm also running the eduke32 as an administrator.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The HRP files need to be in a folder in the game directory. In the eduke32 launcher, enable the autoload folder and change "Custom game content directory" to point to that folder.

I don't remember for certain if the HRP requires it but you may also wish to enable Polymer render in the launcher too.

I started doing this, one step at a time and after enabling the autolauncher it worked. However, the mouse was jerky. I then changed the NVidea settings so the game run on the graphics card rather than intel shared graphics and that seems to have resolved the jerky problem.

I've only had a brief play but so far, so good.

Thank you ever so much. I appreciate the help.
AFAIK, eduke32 is optimised by the dev team for NVIDIA. I remember seeing plenty of comments regarding issues on AMD hardware. Not sure about Intel graphics but the latest build runs on my older Intel GMA graphics reasonably well. :)
