korell: Firstly, if you've given up then what's the point in posting as posting is to ask for help, but you've given up already.
But, to be more constructive, if you can provide a more comprehensive set of details, of both your system specifications (CPU, RAM, OS, GPU, etc) and also the attempts you've made to fix it, the better the hope for getting assistance. So, for example:
Are you using the provided DOSBox or another engine, like eDuke32 or JFDuke?
Are you using any additional materials, like High Resolution Packs?
Have you tried running as admin, turning off visual themes, using various compatibility settings?
Are all your drivers up to date?
Where have you installed the game (e.g. Program Files or C:\Games, or something else)?
meh - moved on, it was fun but froze up every time after playing for awhile. No worries, I am on to other games now. But thanks for the response.
