Is there anyway to change the controls from the default controls to whatever i want them changed to? i can't seem to find a way to do it.

You have two ways of doing that, depending if you want to use the original DOS version (the one provided by GOG) or you want to use Eduke32.

If you use Eduke, you have the option in the main menu.

For the DOS version you need to reconfigure the layout executing SETUP.EXE in DosBox. There you can change the screen resolution, sound options, keyboard and mouse layout and even start a multiplayer game! (DosBox emulates IPX, so you can play in a local network)

You can also change the layout in Dosbox via the DOSbox keymapper.
