If you're buying/pre-ordering Duke Nukem Forever, or you're getting the demo on Thursday from the First Access Club, then join me to celebrate! On Thursday; June 10th, or June 14th, or whenever you get DNF, comment on here and say "Allan is awesome!"
Just to prove you're awesome.
I owe Allen Blum many, many beers. I can't tell you how much of an impact his games have had on me over the years. Well, I can when I finish this article I'm working on!

Playing the Demo tomorrow, got the Balls of Steel Edition on pre-order.
When I saw DNF back at PAX 2010, Allen Blum was in the back of the room. Randy announced it to us, and I then realized I was in the presence of a guy that really impacted my childhood! It was great.

That is awesome. I would have loved to have seen his reaction. Did the room clap for Allen? I hope so!

If anyone is interested, here's a link to the article I mentioned in my previous post: Crunching Numbers #2: The Return of the King

I pre-ordered it and just played the demo this morning. I have heard a lot of people complaining and there are some legitimate complaints, but overall I would have to say that I enjoyed the demo. After having the chance to urinate and throw poo around, I would say that it is going to be a pretty crude game, but that is what we would expect from Duke Nukem.
I just played the demo, until the game changed my azerty controls for qwerty... And there was no voices (Duke or NPGs). Other that that, it was fun. I just hope the checkpoint system is only for the demo.
I would hate not beeing able to save the game whenever I want to. I didn't finish Crysis 2 because of that.
I already preordered it. I'm a huge fan of Duke Nukem and am looking forward to the awesome one-liners that spew out of his mouth and the ridiculous situations he will get himself into.

The regenerating health and 2-weapon system are downers, but it really didn't bother me too much during the demo.
Is this game will have background music like the old DN3D? Because on the demo i can't hear any background music.
I won't, didn't like the demo. What would be really cool is some kind of offer from GoG of DN3D & DNMP as a tribute of this new release.

I played the DNF demo last Saturday (4th June). They have used the same intro Duke theme as the old game but as a new rock version. Was fun to hear again.

Similar thing was done for the "classic Doom map in the Doom3 engine" for the music. What was midi now sounds like heavy rock.

And it looks like my steam DNF just unlocked so I'm gonna go play some. Shake it baby!

I'll probably buy the GOTY version with all the DLC included when it drops to $7.50 or below on a Steam sale.
Got it and played it for couple of hours and so far it's been fun. Two weapons limit is pants but quickly forgot about it.

Sounds like a good idea to me too.

God no.
Played through it. Really fun game, nowhere near as great as Duke Nukem 3D, but still fun. I especially liked the level design, they're a nice change from all the boring CoD-like levels which most shooters have today. The levels are still linear, but have an awesome oldschool-feeling to them.
