I was not privy to any information regarding this game, but kept seeing it advertised on here, GMG and GG. Tried out the demo and immediately fell under its charm spell. I didn't even finish out the demo before I bought it. :D The subtle details that made their way into the script/game world really make it stand out - you can tell this was a labor of love.

I play alot of games and I can honestly say this is a breath of fresh air from many of the big name cash cows we've seen lately. This company/developer definitely has my support for future games, should they make them!

Thanks!

Wow Shandrydan, thanks! I'm one of Driftmoon's two developers. :) I decided to check whether someone had questions for us last thing before heading to bed, and reading your lovely comment was just the perfect way for me to end this day.

Awesome to hear you've enjoyed our work so much! Our most important goal with Driftmoon has been to make a game that could brighten up its player's day, even a tiny bit. Have fun playing! :)

Wow, thanks for posting Anne! It's really cool when developers are involved in the communities of their games, and even moreso when they're around to provide support and listen to feedback.

And the fact that only two people worked on this is impressive to me, as well. Of the ~5 hours I've put into the game so far, I've not had a single issue in terms of bugs or crashes (I haven't even seen any typos yet! :D), and the game engine runs smooth as melted butter.

I'm definitely looking forward to messing around with the mod scene of this game when I've completed the story!

Oh, and those exploding barrel enemies (name escapes me at the moment) are creepy. That is all.

You are both wonderful people and game developers. I was having a slow time with my game on my pc due to slow speed. I looked into the sites updates and found that there was an update that fixed/remedied that particular problem. I thought to myself-Are Ville and Anne telepathic ;)

Oh no... you're onto my superhuman telepathic abilities, deathknight! *Goes to find a very good hiding place so that she won't become a medical specimen*

Kidding aside, thanks! Glad to hear the new optimizations worked for you!

And thanks again for the nice message, Shandrydan. If you work hard, and have a passion for it (AND take a long time), it's possible for two people to do quite a lot. :)

And remember that while Ville and I are the only actual developers, the music was composed by Gareth Meek, and most of the portraits are by Johanna Sundström. Our players have also helped a whole lot by sending us feedback through the game (thanks!). :)

This is by far my best purchase in 2013. Sadly, my adventure looks like nearing it's end. But i can't complain, after over 800 minutes of enjoyment that's pretty remarkable for a bite size title.

Thanks wormwholewizards! Glad to hear you've been enjoying the adventure. :)
I really enjoyed the game too. :) Lots of light-hearted moments, and the references to famous stories were fun.

Thanks!
Hopefully there'll be a sequel or another new project by Instant Kingdom because these guys are very good developers.
just waiting for Mac OSX compatibility :)
I have to add my two cents in. This game is simply amazing. I got it recently during one of GOG's promos, but now that I've played it for a few hours, I can honestly say it's a title worthy of full asking price. I kind of feel badly that I got it on sale now.

Thanks Anne and Ville! Keep up the good work! You have won over another person and have a fan for life :)

Thanks CymTyr! Always glad to hear that. :)
I would like to add my praise for Driftmoon as well. I have a niece and nephew, five yr old twins, who harass me constantly to play what ever RPG I am playing at the moment. Needless to say, Gothic III and Two Worlds II were both very difficult for them to grasp . . . the controls, story and often the violence was more than I wanted them to experience. I have bought a couple of RPG's / Adventure games hoping they could play them but the games always seemed to have complicated controls, story, horror or too much blood.

I told them I had bought a game called Driftmoon for them to try. On their next visit they insisted that I let them play. I installed it hoping it would not be too difficult for them. I was happy to see the "Adventurer" mode (the reason I bought it for them) and started them playing the game. To my surprise it turned into several hour event with the twins jousting for their 15 minutes of game play. I started out allowing each 30 minutes but it was too difficult for them to wait that long for a turn. I had great fun reading the text using different voices and watching their interest build as they tried to free the villagers from their stone prisons. I was also caught up in the story and game play as both were extremely well done IMHO. The only problem is the twins are now constantly harassing their mother to bring them over to play the game. Anyway, they love the game and it has been a pleasure playing it with them.

My only request would be a "Young Adventurer" mode that would feature only one strike to defeat an enemy as it is sometimes scary for an enemy to continue attacking them. We have certainly enjoyed the game. I started my own game to experience a more difficult play through. It is refreshing to find an RPG I can share with the twins or enjoy myself. Great job by all involved in the making of this game !! =)
Just finished.

A very nice relaxing game apart from the change of pace at the fortress !

Only complaint would be that there wasn't enough game. Looking forward to the expansion / sequel
